Cas dermatoscopique
Benign melanocytic nevus
Between the second and third toe of the right foot of a 35-year-old female patient a symmetric, but irregular pigmented tumour (5x8mm) was found. She had skin type II, 20-30 small, non suspicious nevi in clinic and dermoscopy. No history of a melanoma in her own history or her family.
Due to the anatomical position this melanocytic tumour was not easy to examine. In dermoscopy an asymmetric pigmented tumour with different sizes of pigmented globules was seen. All the globules had light to dark brown colours. In the centre a distinct greyish pigmentation without globules was presented (FotoFinder, 20fold magnification).
The follow-up image was performed three months later: no change of the structures was seen in dermoscopy. The colour intensity showed a slight increase. In the central part of the tumour no change of differential structures, colours or increase of area was noticed (FotoFinder, 20fold magnification).
Diagnosis based on the follow-up of computer-dermoscopy
Benign melanocytic nevus.
Remarks
Regular self-examination and a re-examination in six months were recommended.
