Trichoscale AI

Artificial Intelligence in automatic hair assessment in vivo

Trichoscale AI is the latest groundbreaking expert software developed by TrichoLAB, FotoFinder’s exclusive partner for hair analysis solutions. Introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI), the digital quantification of hair growth and loss takes a leap forward beyond any ordinary hair analysis tool.

With an unprecedented accuracy all essential parameters are determined quickly and painlessly. The AI-driven expert system automatically calculates the number of hairs, the hair density, thickness (caliber), length and growth of hair, as well as the cumulative hair thickness, the anagen/telogen rate, vellus/terminal rate, the density of follicular units (grafts) and the percentage of single, double, triple and bigger follicular units.

Fully integrated into the new TrichoLAB Suite environment, Trichoscale AI supports doctors in the evaluation of scalp and hair disorders and paves the way to more objective treatment decisions tailored to the patients’ needs.

Encompassing assessments

both on long and short hair

Whether a trichoscopy or a trichogram is needed, within shortest time Trichoscale AI provides you with highly precise data both on shaved or non-shaved hair. Therefore, the software analyzes a whole set of images taken from different scalp areas to provide you with a detailed trichoscopy report.

The examination:

painless and without plucking!

As painful epilation is not necessary for the AI-assisted hair analysis with Trichoscale AI, patients do not have to abstain from hair cosmetics. The entire examination process is quick and convenient.

Virtual Tattoo

digital trichogram

In case a trichogram is required, reproducible images are easily captured. During the follow-up, the patented and AI-assisted Virtual Tattoo technology scans the follicle pattern and allows to find the same spot on the scalp as in the baseline image taken 48 hours before (follicular map concept). Based on the assumption that anagen hairs grow about 0.3 mm per day, Trichoscale AI determines the anagen/telogen rate.

Sophisticated AI-algorithms

Drawing on the power of AI, the expert software provides a revolutionary toolset: From the patient preparation for trichoscopy with Shave Assist through the imaging with FotoWizzard to the follow-up examination with Virtual Tattoo.

Instant Count

Automatic evaluation instead of clipping

An Instant Count mode is available for immediate determination of several hair parameters without clipping and regardless of the patient’s hair length. One click and you get information on the hair density, the number and density of terminal and vellus hair, the cumulative hair thickness, yellow dots and follicular units.

Smart Count

for manual analysis

The Smart Count mode was designed to give experienced users the possibility to assess each hair parameter individually. Simply select the single hairs to indicate and specify follicular units, number and density of vellus and terminal hairs, hair thickness as well as empty follicular units (yellow dots).

Instant results at a glance

Trichoscale AI allows to create trichogram reports and instant trichoscopy reports with a profound summary of the respective analysis results.

Additional services

Working in the TrichoLAB Suite software environment, Trichoscale AI users benefit from additional features. Use the TrichoLAB Service to get access to a Second Opinion platform by international top hair experts or use the lab for LAB-based analyses.

Ideally suited to impressively demonstrate findings to patients. Not only... nevi, but also dermatoses and especially trichological findings.

Hair and scalp examination in dermoscopy (trichoscopy) or video dermoscopy is today an integral part of every clinical examination of a patient in a dermatological center specialising in scalp pathology. The FotoFinder system makes it very easy to take pictures in excellent quality and with different magnifications.
