IT specialist specializing in system integration is a 3-year recognized apprenticeship in industry and commerce.
IT specialists specializing in system integration plan, install, operate, and manage IT systems.
As service providers in-house or at customer sites, they advise on the selection and use of hardware and software components, set up systems, network them, and put them into operation. They create system documentation and conduct training for users. During ongoing operations, they regularly maintain and service the systems and adapt them to changing requirements. In the event of malfunctions, they narrow down the causes, e.g., with the help of expert and diagnostic systems, and rectify the malfunctions.

- Technology (e.g., for installing network components and troubleshooting)

- Technical understanding and manual dexterity (e.g., resolving compatibility issues between IT systems and system components, replacing hardware components in IT systems)

- Perseverance (e.g., performing lengthy troubleshooting)
- Customer focus and verbal communication skills (e.g., coordinating system handover with customers, advising and training users)
- Willingness to learn (e.g., continuously acquiring knowledge about new technical developments in the IT industry)
